Dies soll vor allem dem Umstand Rechnung tragen, dass heutzutage nur noch wenige Benutzer die M\u00f6glichkeit haben, lateinische und fr\u00fchneuhochdeutsche Quellen zu lesen [\u2026] Es liegt in der Natur der Sache, dass im Rahmen einer Rezension der Wert einer solchen Editionsarbeit nicht angemessen gew\u00fcrdigt werden kann. «Reading the letters published in Volume 19 of Heinrich Bullinger’s correspondence is a little bit like picking up a novel and starting in the middle of the book. The story being told is that of the Schmalkaldic War [\u2026] Sixteenth-century correspondence can be a daunting source for historical research because of the many allusions to people, publications, and developments familiar to the correspondents but not to modern readers.
