«Kein Brief, keine Nachricht. Seit zwei Monaten hat Heinrich Bullinger nichts von seinem Sohn geh\u00f6rt. \u00abWie kommt das?\u00ab, fragt er ihn am 1. M\u00e4rz 1554 in einem Brief, und man sieht dem Satz die Unruhe an, mit der er geschrieben wurde. Da schwingt Sorge mit, gewiss. Gefahren gab es genug, auch f\u00fcr einen Zwanzigj\u00e4hrigen, sogar im Elsass, wo der junge Mann studierte. Aber nat\u00fcrlich bricht auch ein leiser \u00c4rger durch: Denkt der Junge denn \u00fcberhaupt nicht an seine Eltern in Z\u00fcrich, die wissen m\u00f6chten, wie es ihm geht?<\/p>\n

Vielleicht hatte Heinrich junior ja auch wirklich geschrieben. Briefe konnten irgendwo liegen bleiben oder verloren gehen. Das wusste niemand besser als Vater Bullinger, der ein eifriger Briefschreiber war. Eine \u00f6ffentliche Post gab es noch nicht. Wer Briefe zu bef\u00f6rdern hatte, gab sie Reisenden mit, Kaufleuten oder Studenten, die in die betreffende Richtung reisten. Oder einem der Boten, die regelm\u00e4ssig zwischen den St\u00e4dten und Landschaften der Alten Eidgenossenschaft unterwegs waren. Da konnte einiges passieren. Vielleicht stellte es sich als m\u00fchsam heraus, einen Brief auszuh\u00e4ndigen. Das Trinkgeld war zu knapp bemessen. Oder der Auftrag ging schlicht vergessen.» [\u2026]<\/p>\n
