Floriane Goy

Floriane Goy, Dr.

  • Postdoc

After studying Latin language and literature, Floriane Goy obtained a PhD in medieval Latin at the University of Geneva in June 2023, entitled “Représenter la sagesse: les modèles du savoir et la poésie allégorique de 1070-1180.” She specialises in the study of 12th-century Latin literature and is particularly interested in the relationship between didactic poetry and intellectual history.
Since September 2023, Floriane Goy has been working as a post-doctoral researcher on the project “16th Century Exegesis of Paul,” funded by the SNSF in cooperation between the universities of Geneva (Institut d’Histoire de la Réformation) and Zurich (Theologische Fakultät).  The project aims to study the commentaries on the Pauline epistles written between 1520 and 1600 in the context of the Swiss Reformation.
Floriane Goy is working on the digital aspect of the research, with the aim of analysing the corpus of commentaries using ‘distant reading’ and ‘topic modelling.’ This will enable us to explore the way in which computer tools can assist in the interpretation of sacred texts.
