Christ*innen als Übersetzer von Hoffnung (Arbeitstitel)
 
„…Wir warten auf die Auferstehung der Toten und das Leben der zukünftigen Welt.“ So bekennen Christinnen und Christen im Glaubensbekenntnis von Nicäa-Konstantinopel. Häufig wurde und wird diese Hoffnung jedoch schöpfungsfrei als Erlösung von dieser Welt gedacht und führt zu einem Rückzug, statt im Sinne der Schöpfungserneuerung zu einem engagierten Einsatz für diese Welt. Vor diesem Hintergrund sollen anhand neuerer systematisch-theologischer Ansätze verschiedene Spannungsfelder diskutiert werden.
 
Praktisch-theologisch stellt sich die Frage, wie die Hoffnungsthematik die Gemeinde prägen kann. Wie geschieht Bildung in der Hoffnung im Gemeindekontext? Und wie werden im Sinne des Priestertums aller Gläubigen Gemeinglieder selbst zu Expert*innen, sodass sie sprachfähig sind und Hoffnungsperspektiven in säkularen Kontexten hinein übersetzen?

Christians as Translators of Hope (working title)

“… We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.” This is what Christians confess in the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed. Hope for the life in the world to come has often been understood as salvation from this present world, causing Christians to withdraw rather than proactively engage in creation care. Against this background, various areas of tension rising from more recent systematic theological approaches will be reviewed and critically discussed.
 
In practical theological terms, this raises questions concerning how the perspective of hope can shape the life of the church. How can churches become educators of hope? According to “the priesthood of all believers”, how can church members become experts so that they can speak about hope and are empowered to translate perspectives of hope into secular contexts?
